Steve Gohm

Steve has worked in Restoration since 1987. In addition to his residential builders license, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Building Construction Management. Steve has taken advanced courses in fire restoration, cleaning and water remediation. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter in Saginaw Township from 1993-2003.

As the president of Hammer Restoration Inc., Steve is committed to providing his workforce with the latest technology available and ongoing training to ensure that Hammer customers receive the best service possible.

Amy has worked in restoration since 1986. Amy has her residential builders license and she has taken advanced courses in specialty drying, cleaning and mold remediation. Amy is a strong advocate of continuing education for all Hammer department managers and technicians.

Maria joined Hammer Restoration Team in January 2018. Maria attended Saginaw Valley University. She previously worked at Home Depot in Contractor Sales focusing on residential construction projects, giving her extensive experience in building trades and supply chain services. Her 15 years working at Home Depot has also given her valuable experience working with contractors and customers.

Through her work experience and her community involvement, Maria has acquired a vast network of relationships across the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Joe Meyers
Branch Manager – Mount Pleasant

Joe joined Hammer Restoration in 2008 as Branch Manager for the Mt Pleasant location. He moved to the area in the mid-1980’s and has been a resident of the area since. He has been in the construction and lumber industry since the early 1990’s. Joe holds a residential builders license from the state of Michigan and IICRC certifications in Fire and Smoke Restoration, Odor Control, Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying and Applied Microbial Remediation. Most recently Joe has also become a Contents Loss Specialist(SM), – CLS; -Certified Restorer (CR); Water Loss Specialist (WLS); Certified Healthcare Technician and Certified Healthcare Supervisor through the Construction Infection Control Training Institute.

Tom Placher comes to Hammer Restoration with 20 plus years in construction. His Construction back ground is both in the field as a carpenter and as a Commercial construction Estimator/Project manager.

Tom is currently serving our Country as a member of the National Guard. In 2021 he earned & received a promotion to: 1st. Sargent. He has received numerous awards over his 25 plus years in the military and 4 combat tours.

Tom is a Graduated in 1997 from the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree. In 2016 Tom also completed an extensive course “Executive Certified Home Modification Provider Program” from the University of Southern California.

Matt has a business degree from The University of Michigan and brings over 30 years of sales and marketing experience to the Hammer Restoration team. He has a diverse background dealing with industrial and automotive accounts to schools and healthcare clients. Matt recently earned two new certifications: Certified Healthcare Technician and Certified Healthcare Supervisor through the Construction Infection Control Training Institute.

Matt covers the entire lower peninsula of Michigan and takes care of Hammer Restoration’s commercial customers which includes hospitals, schools, universities, multi-family housing, office buildings, and more.
